Sean Rossiter wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive technology.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Steps we take include:

Text alternatives for meaningful images, and hiding decorative images from screen readers
Color contrast that meets WCAG AA, checked each time the site is updated
Full keyboard access, a "Skip to content" link, and visible focus outlines
Labeled form fields, written instructions, and error messages announced to screen readers
No video. The home page photos move as you scroll, and stay still for visitors who turn on reduced motion
Short fade-in effects as sections scroll into view, turned off for visitors who turn on reduced motion
A sticky header and page menu that never cover the item that has keyboard focus or the section a link jumps to
A full-screen menu on small screens that keeps keyboard focus inside it and closes with the Escape key
Correct language tags for the German-language page and the German phrases on other pages
