A guide to the city, its neighborhoods, and its homes.
Sunnyvale sits between Mountain View and Santa Clara. It has a historic downtown on Murphy Avenue, two Caltrain stations, and large tech campuses in Moffett Park.
Homes include post-war single-family houses, Eichlers, and many townhomes and condos.
US-101, SR-237, SR-85, Central Expressway, and Lawrence Expressway all pass through town. I-280 runs along the south edge.
Caltrain stops at Sunnyvale station downtown and Lawrence station on the east side. VTA light rail serves the north side.
Townhomes and condos make up a large share of sales. Check single-family and condo numbers separately.
Many original homes have been updated, and some neighborhoods include Eichler tracts.
Sunnyvale has several school districts. Most of the city is in the Sunnyvale School District for kindergarten through 8th grade. Parts of the south and west are in the Cupertino Union School District, and some areas are in the Santa Clara Unified School District. High school students attend the Fremont Union High School District or Santa Clara Unified, depending on the address.
School boundaries change. Confirm the assigned schools for any address with the district before you buy.
Las Palmas Park, Baylands Park, and the Sunnyvale Community Center have playing fields, trails, and courts.
Murphy Avenue has restaurants and a weekly farmers market.
