A guide to the city, its neighborhoods, and its homes.
Santa Clara sits between Sunnyvale and San Jose. It is home to Santa Clara University, Levi's Stadium, and the headquarters of large tech companies such as Nvidia and Intel.
Homes range from early 1900s houses near the university to post-war ranch homes, and newer townhomes and condos in the north.
US-101 crosses the city, I-880 runs along the east edge, and Lawrence, San Tomas, and Central expressways run through it. San Jose Mineta International Airport is on the east border.
Caltrain stops at Santa Clara and Lawrence stations. ACE and Capitol Corridor trains stop at Santa Clara-University and Santa Clara-Great America. VTA light rail runs along Tasman Drive in the north.
Single-family homes make up most sales, with many condos and townhomes north of US-101.
Santa Clara runs its own electric utility, Silicon Valley Power, so homes there do not get electric service from PG&E.
Most of the city is in the Santa Clara Unified School District for kindergarten through 12th grade. Some addresses on the west side are in other districts. Check by address.
School boundaries change. Confirm the assigned schools for any address with the district before you buy.
Central Park, the San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail, and the Guadalupe River Trail on the east edge have paths and fields. Ulistac Natural Area sits along the river.
Levi's Stadium, California's Great America, Mission Santa Clara, and the Triton Museum of Art are in the city.
